State’s Attorneys

Was looking at my county’s State’s Attorney website and looked at a few others for comparison. Most of the counties have the same text on their webpage. And that’s cool. Butte County has the same text twice. Again, totally cool.

Minnehaha County’s State’s Attorney webpage is friendly. Same basic text, but a pic of the guy. And typical contact info.

Clay County State’s Attorney has several pages. It’s nice. They have their own site, not just a page on the county site. It’s nice. It’s inviting. Professional.

And then you have Custer County. Is this a joke? I thought this might be a new group of people, but no. This is typical. Nothing there.

If you go to just this county site, you have no idea what anybody does.

I checked some other county sites, and there are some good ones. As a regular Joe, I want my government to be easier to understand. I wanna know what they do. I wonder how much time is wasted by these people talking to citizens who are at the wrong place, and if they had just put it on the page, it could have been avoided.

Just say who you are and what you do. And then you just gotta do it. That last part seems to be where a bunch of these county people lose their way.
